Putin and Merkel: we need to add the details of the postponement of the Association of Ukraine with EU

The President of the Russian Federation centuries Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a telephone conversation on the first day of the week called for clarification of details of the arrangements for the delay of implementation of the agreement on the unification of Ukraine with the European Union, said the press service of the Kremlin.

As reported by the press service, the leaders gave a positive assessment made at the Ministerial meeting of the EU-Russia-Ukraine in Brussels on 12 September agreements to postpone the implementation of the Treaty of Union between the European Union and Ukraine before January 1, 2016.

" Noted the need to further mutual work to clarify the practical details of the above-mentioned consensus, " said the report.

in the process of tripartite consultations of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the EU, held in Brussels on the last working day of the week, the parties agreed to postpone the implementation of the Treaty on the Union in the functioning of the free trade zone until 31 December 2015. First foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin assured that Ukraine will continue reforms " full-scale and at full speed immediately, despite the postponement of the implementation of the agreement. Implementation is the actual implementation of the international Treaty at the domestic level in the form of national laws and regulations.


Among the goals of the Treaty of Union between Ukraine and the EU: the development of the Association, the gradual rapprochement between Ukraine and the EU on the basis of shared values, deepening economic and trade relations, the strengthening of cooperation in the field of justice, freedom and security.

Special attention is paid to the position of the free trade area between Ukraine and the EU (FTA), which should provide a gradual economic integration of Ukraine into the EU internal market. Part of the contract involves the establishment of principles of cooperation in several sectors: energy, industrial policy and entrepreneurship, taxation, tourism and others. Also, determine the mechanism and the way of Ukraine's getting financial assistance from the EU.

The entire contract consists of more than 1000 pages, and its structure consists of a preamble, seven parts, 43 applications and three protocols. Priorities are economic aspects of the contract.
