State TV company of Ukraine has decided to renounce participation in the famous international song contest "Eurovision". The state will miss the contest in 2015 in consequence of the difficult economic situation.
"National television company of Ukraine in the bilateral agreement with the European broadcasting Union (EBU) has decided to categorically refuse to participate in the song contest "Eurovision-2015", - quotes the statement of the press service of the national television company portal "Independent news Agency".
The company argues that, despite the desire and consciousness is the main mission of the West, even to form a positive style of Ukraine on the international arena, at the moment should take this step. "We understand that Eurovision is an image project prestige. But we have no right to do something bad. And the wonderful we have no means trivial. If have the desire to help us - we will be only happy, but without the help of others this project we will not be pulling. Because this decision", - commented on the situation, the General Director of NTU Zurab Alasania.
He also explains the rejection of "Eurovision-2015" the fact that at the moment in front of the TV is the main problem - the transition to a social broadcasting. "The mission of creating a social broadcaster coincided with a very difficult step in the life of the country. Unstable economic and political environment - all these processes are forced NTU focus on the Essentials: rapid building up of a social broadcasting in Ukraine. With all this takes a lot of effort to restructure all costs", - explained in NTU.
However, the Ukrainian fans of "Eurovision" will not lose view of the competition. State TV company is currently negotiating with the EBU broadcast the semi-finals and final of the singing competition. With all that in NTU assume that Ukraine will not participate in the contest only for 1 year and in 2016 will again send a private adept at "Eurovision".
