Poroshenko agreed with Merkel help Ukraine and Minsk consensus
The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a telephone conversation on the first day of the weekend discussed the provision of international assistance to Ukraine and the progress of the Minsk agreement by the parties to the conflict in the East of the country.
" The sides discussed issues of international economic aid to Ukraine. Head Poroshenko and Chancellor Merkel agreed that early approval of the new programme international monetary Fund will help to resolve the economic situation, and will also help the receipt of assistance from other international donors ", - informs the press service of the Ukrainian head on the first day of the weekend in the evening according to the results of the meeting.
Poroshenko also said Merkel exemption 150 Ukrainian prisoners of war, which currently provide the necessary assistance. He also assured that the Ukrainian government continues to make every effort to release other Ukrainians who until now are in captivity.
The Ukrainian head of state also spoke about the successful delivery of the first part of the Ukrainian humanitarian cargo, formed on his initiative for residents under the control of the militia of the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
" Petro Poroshenko and Angela Merkel stressed that peace, all parties are obliged to fulfill all the points of the Minsk agreements, most importantly, to close the border troops and get off at the line of demarcation ", - informs the press-service.
