Galloway: Crimea became the West as a pretext for an arms race
The West uses the reunification of the Crimea with Russia as a pretext for a new arms race, says British people's elected George Galloway. About this he said in an interview.
"The reunification of the Crimea with Russia and the events in the East of Ukraine are the pretext for a new round of tension and potential new arms race with Russia," he said.
Galloway also said that the West would cost to intensify cooperation instead of increasing the pressure on the Russian Federation in an attempt to maintain a unipolar world dominated by the US and its allies in the European Union.
"If Ukraine joined Russia, its population could suffer the same fate as most of the residents of Eastern Ukraine," said George Galloway in a conversation on the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
Galloway also showed the double standards adopted by the EU: the West did not recognize the past in the Crimea a referendum in which the overwhelming majority voted for the annexation of its territory to Russia, but at the same time did not oppose the holding of a public referendum in Scotland in September 2014.
Crimea and Sevastopol 16 March emphasize the 1st referendum in which an overwhelming number of voters voted for secession from Ukraine and Reunification with Russia. In Crimea for entering the Russian Federation voted 96, 77%, in Sevastopol - 95, 6%.
