Deripaska beats Abramovich in Russia`s billionaire race
Finance magazine has released its fourth rating of Russia`s billionaires with the wealth exceeding 2.4 billion rubles. The hottest news of this rating is the change of the leader. Russia?s aluminum king, Oleg Deripaska, outpaced Chukotka Governor and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. The mushrooming aluminum empire of Deripaska has turned into the most dynamic company in the country.

On the stock exchange boom, perhaps, the only woman billionaire, Elena Baturina (who is also the wife of Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov) skipped 12 scores vs. the previous rating, while former co-owners of Interros, Mikhail Prokhorov and Vladimir Potanin, settled at the third and fourth positions, though they tailed the first ten a year earlier. Notorious because of Nice accident, Nafta-Moscow owner Suleiman Kerimov is amid the ten richest today, while AFK Sistema co-owner Vladimir Evtushenkov was forced out of the gold ten.

As much as 11 legislators of Russia`s parliament are in league with the hundred wealthiest people of the country.

To be more precise, the list of five top money bags is as follows: the leader is Oleg Deripaska, 1968, who is the sole owner of Bazovy Element (Basic Element) empire. His personal wealth is estimated at 563.5 billion rubles ($21,200 million). Deripaska is tailed by Chukotka Governor and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, 1966, with the wealth of 558.2 billion rubles ($21,000 million). The last of the trio is Mikhail Prokhorov, 1965. This businessman co-owns GMK Norilsk Nickel, Rosbank, Polus Zoloto, Otkrytye Investitsii (Open Investments) and Prof Media and has 377.4 billion rubles ($14,200 million) in personal capital.

Vladimir Potanin, 1961, is just the fourth in the rating (377.4 billion rubles ($14,200 million)). Potanin and Prokhorov decided to split the business in late January. The fifth richest is Vladimir Lisin, 1956. He is the CEO and major holder of Novolipetsk Iron & Steel Works and has the personal wealth of 369.5 billion rubles ($13,900 million). - Kommersant
