Mogherini will not arrive at the summit EU-Ukraine meeting at the UN
Vladimir Dobrovolsky. The head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini will travel to the summit of the EU-Ukraine, which will take place on the first day of the week in Kiev, because of agreements with the UN Secretary General, said in a statement.
Mogherini said on Sunday held a telephone conversation with the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, to discuss the agenda of the upcoming summit, the reform process in the country and the situation in the East of Ukraine.
"I expressed my sincere regret to the Minister that I could not connect to the presidency of the European Council Donald Tusk and the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker at the conference because of commitments to the UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon in connection with the extraordinary European Council, held on 23 April," - said Mogerini.
The European Union held on 23 April extraordinary meeting devoted to the migration crisis in the Mediterranean. Leaders tasked Mogherini to prepare proposals for the mission that will deal with the detention and destruction of vessels illegal carriers of migrants. This question and other questions of migration agenda Mogherini plans to discuss at the UN for the upcoming week.
