The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper agreed on deepening bilateral cooperation in the military sphere, said at a press conference the head of the Ukrainian country.
Harper yesterday arrived in Kiev to meet with Poroshenko and Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. This is the third visit by Harper to Ukraine since January 2014.
"I am convinced that not so long ago declared Mr. Harper's initiative to attract canadian trainers to the training of the Ukrainian military contributes to the strengthening of the defense potential of Ukraine and forms already defined combat brotherhood ", - said Poroshenko at a mutual press conference.
The President expressed gratitude to the government of Canada for giving Kiev credit resources totaling more than 400 million canadian dollars, humanitarian and technical assistance in an amount that exceeds 178 million canadian dollars, as well as for non-lethal military weapons.
Poroshenko stressed the importance of the visit of Prime Minister of Canada yesterday meeting " the Big seven ", which will be held in the Bavarian castle ELMAU June 7-8.
