Alexey Bogdanovsky. The Minister of Finance of the USA Jacob Lew hinted at Washington's support for a possible restructuring of Ukraine's debt, indicating that all interested parties are required to bear sacrifices for the country's reconstruction. Lew met Friday with Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Minister of Finance Natalia Jaresko.
"He (Liu) said that the IMF program requires mutual sacrifices from all interested parties, to provide economic recovery is in the interests of all parties," said Commissioner of the Ministry of Finance to the Agency following the meeting with Lew Yatsenyuk and Jaresko.
USA first hinted at the desirability of restructuring of Ukraine's debt to private creditors. The same position was expressed on Tuesday, Deputy Director of the IMF David Lipton. A senior official of the IMF said that the Fund can continue to Finance of Ukraine, even if it will allow the default to private creditors.
