The document is supplemented by the criminal rule of the country with a number of articles aimed at strengthening safeguards for the legitimate professional activities of correspondents. "The danger of liquidation, violence or destruction of property of a journalist, his close relatives and family members associated with the Commission of professional activity, is punished with correctional labor for up to 2 years or by arrest for a term up to six months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to three years ", - said in the text of the law.
Murder or attempted murder of a journalist, his close relatives or family members punishable by deprivation of liberty for a period from 9 to fifteen years or life imprisonment. Legally, the seizure or retention in the form of hostage journalist or his close relatives is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years.
in addition, in the event of the death of a journalist in the performance of professional duties, members of his family will be paid a one-time grant in the amount of 100 times the subsistence minimum. In case of health damage (contusion, trauma or injury) caused to the journalist during the execution of professional duties he will be paid from the state budget one-time grant of up to 50 times the subsistence minimum.
