In the scientific article published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, explains that our universe produces energy in two times less than 2 billion years ago. This is the conclusion of researchers who evaluated the effect of radiation emanating from 220 thousand galaxies 2 billion light years from Earth. This may be evidence that the universe is slowly but dies.
"Since this epoch, the universe is doomed to senescence and death, old age, which would last forever. The mere fact that the universe is gradually extinguished is not a new discovery: astrophysics say about this since the late 90-ies of the last century, however part of this process, its speed and scale remained unexplored. As it turned out, 2.3 billion years ago the universe around us, judging by the galaxies, whose light went to Earth the same time produced approximately twice as much visible light and other forms of energy than it does now.
From this we can conclude that the universe actually goes off. And after about 100 trillion years, when the last red dwarfs will exhaust their own reserves "star fuel," she irrevocably go into a "dead" state (the so-called era of degeneration) and will be very dark. By that time the only "inhabitants" of galaxies and the entire universe as a whole would degenerate objects - black holes, white dwarfs, brown dwarfs and neutron stars, as well as the last planet.
After a quadrillion years the planet will be destroyed, and in 10 quintillion years white dwarfs and neutron stars will merge with the supermassive black holes at the centers of their galaxies. Then will begin the penultimate epoch in the life of the Universe - the era of black holes, which will be completed through an unimaginably long time - 2 (10 to 99 years. During this time, all existing black holes will evaporate in the result of the formation of the Hawking radiation, the Universe by that point will be populated with electrons, photons and positrons.
