Demchyshyn: Ukraine still no one wants to give money for the purchase of gas
Potential creditors as long as I do not want to provide funds to Ukraine for the purchase of gas for injection into UGS facilities for the coming winter, declared the head of Ministry of energy of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn. He hoped once again to discuss the issue on August 27-28 in Vienna at the meeting with the European Commission and hopes that negotiations will connect American partners.
"Nobody wants us to give money. 27-28 (August - ed.) will be meeting in Vienna (EC - ed), it is expected the participation of us partners. Hopefully it will be the next step, " said Demchyshyn correspondents on Wednesday, answering the question, how are the conversations with potential lenders on the issue of payment of gas for the winter.
Demchyshyn said that the American side will be presented by representatives of the government and will participate in negotiations informally.
Kiev has a lack of funds for the pumping of gas into underground storage facilities for the preparation for the heating season. By results of examination of the Ministry of energy of Ukraine, the missing amount is 1 billion dollars.
Demchyshyn had previously stated that the country hopes in September to get to these goals the EBRD loan of 300 million dollars, and also maintains an active dialogue with the world Bank on bringing five hundred million dollars, and with IFC, to hire 200-250 million dollars.
