General chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, Yoshihide Suga called the planned visit of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev to the Kuril Islands is unacceptable. He stressed that power at all levels will strive to disrupt the trip.
On a regular daily conference, which happened on 21 August, the Secretary-General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Yoshihide Suga protested against the visit of Prime Minister of Russia on the Kuril Islands. He added that power will vigorously oppose such a development.
"If the visit of Prime Minister Medvedev will take place, it would go against Japan's position on the issue 4 of the Northern Islands, and even hurt the feelings of the Japanese people. This is considered unacceptable. Japan will at all levels to make the effort, so this trip was not implemented", - TASS quoted Japanese policy.
The domestic side 14 August noted that similar kind of explanation from Tokyo unacceptable.
