The United States strongly recognize wrongful convictions in military court handed down a Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsova and active participant, Alexander Kolchenko, said the state Department of the United States.
On Tuesday, the North Caucasus district military court sentenced Oleg Sentsov to 20 years in prison for organizing terrorist acts in the Crimea, the second defendant Alexander Kolchenko received 10 years of imprisonment. The diplomatic Ministry considers allegations of conspiracy, the organization of acts of terrorism and other subversive activities in Crimea unfounded. Sentsov and Kolchenko were caught only for political reasons, as opponents of the annexation of Crimea to Russia, notes the state Department.
