The head the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin gave the Secretary of the international criminal court (ICC) the message of recognition by Kiev jurisdiction of the court, informs on Tuesday a press-service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs.
"The eighth of September 2015 in official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin gave the Secretary of the international criminal court (ICC) message from the jurisdiction of the court concerning crimes against humanity and war crimes ", - is informed in the report.
As emphasized by the Ministry, this statement " Ukraine recognizes the court's jurisdiction with respect to all crimes committed in Ukraine since the start of the military aggression of Russia against our country." The message is of an indefinite nature. Consequently, the ICC will have jurisdiction for these crimes regardless of the nationality of persons who have committed them, even if they are residents of third countries, underlines the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada in February appealed to the international criminal court on the recognition by Ukraine of its jurisdiction in respect of crimes against the Ukrainian people, As if committed by the highest officials of Russia.
Immediately after the decision of Parliament, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine gave to the Prosecutor of the ICC's investigation into crimes against the Ukrainian people, As if committed by the authorities of the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian authorities, as well as the US and EU before many times has accused Moscow of meddling in Ukraine's Affairs. Russia denies it and calls such accusations are unacceptable. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to domestic conflict and is not privy to the events in the South-East, is interested in Ukraine overcame political and economic crisis.
