American companies Microsoft and Google have agreed to cease all litigation on patent infringement against each other. Resolving thus 18 cases in the USA and Germany, IT-giants stopped the centuries-old war.
"Google and Microsoft agree to collaborate on some patent issues. We expect cooperation in the other areas in the future for the benefit of our visitors," - says the General statement of the firms.
The agreement, the economic side which is not disclosed, put an end to the 18 litigation between Google and Microsoft, which several years were held in the USA and Germany. Litigation settled for patents on the technology for the production of mobile phones, Wi-Fi, as well as studies for the Xbox, game consoles and other Microsoft Windows products, informs RIA Novosti.
Despite the agreement, Microsoft and Google will continue to produce similar products and remain the main rivals to each other in different areas, even in research on search engines and mobile devices.
