The OSCE in the coming months plans to increase the size of its observation mission in Ukraine of 70-80 people, to provide more effective oversight of the withdrawal of heavy weapons, said OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, speaking at the permanent Council of the CSTO in Moscow.
"We are preparing and ongoing monitoring of withdrawal of heavy weapons and the places of their storage. We need more observers to perform this task, " said Zannier.
He asked the CSTO countries to attract its Residents to the OSCE mission. According to him, currently the mission consists of 550 people. In the coming months the number of observers will grow by 70 people.
last week the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Moscow is committed to increasing the number of the observation mission in Ukraine is allowed to mandate the number of one thousand people.
