The head of the Central election Commission Mikhail Okhendovsky believes that the current system of local elections, in which elections were held in Ukraine before.
Local elections will be held in Ukraine on Sunday on the new electoral law.
"These elections are distinguished by the fact that, according to the Central election Commission that they are the best. We are always at the appropriate level, elections were organized. The number of messages about the violations in the result of their system analysis indicates that civil society in Ukraine is growing, our voters become more responsible. For this reason, it creates a certain environment in which to operate and Local organizations, and political parties and their candidates, " - said ohendovsky at a press conference on Thursday.
Under the new law, regional, city and district councils will be elected under the proportional system with the so-called open lists, and elections of deputies of village and settlement councils - the majority system of relative majority. The results have to be determined before November 4 and made public for five days, and in the case of the 2nd round of elections of the mayor in the big cities - not later than November 20.
in elections are not available to take blocks of political parties, the electoral threshold for parties is raised from 3% to 5%. The election will turnout. Experts predict that on current elections it will be rather high at over 70%. Local elections are not held in a number of settlements of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
