The Kharkiv city election Commission on the results of processing 100% of protocols has identified the current mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes, the winner on elections of the mayor. He voted 65, 8% came to the polls.
"We immediately pass this data to the CEC, at the nearest session of the city Council Gennady Kernes officially present the mayor," - said the Deputy head of the Kharkiv city election Commission Oleg Bondarenko.
Local elections were held in Ukraine on 25 October on a new electoral law. In small towns with population over 90 thousand people, the mayor was elected by a simple majority vote, and in large cities can be assigned to a second round if none of the candidates will be able to collect more than 50% of the vote.
