Alexander Kuranov. A new project of gas transportation from Russia " Nord stream-2 ", bypassing Ukraine, is a to a certain extent the danger for Slovakia As a transit country, said on Thursday the head of the Ministry of economy Slovakia Hud?k Vasil.
"We take this (" Nord stream-2 " ), which to a certain extent is a threat to Slovakia As a transit country for (supply of) gas.( "Nord stream-2" ) is directed against traditional gas route through Ukraine and Slovakia further West, " said Hud?k, speaking in Bratislava at an international conference at the Tatra Summit.
According to the Minister, Slovakia wants to oppose the construction of the " Nord stream-2 ".
"We officially will oppose this project. I think it violates the common desire of Europe to diversify gas supplies, in addition to Russia, from other sources, and, conversely, increases the dependence on gas from Russia. So, he does not meet the requirements of the 3rd energy package (EU) with the positions of different approaches of gas suppliers to the system (European) pipeline, " said the Slovak Minister.
As said Hud?k, Slovak government prefers Eastring gas pipeline project, which, according to the plan, is required to join a Republican system of pipelines with a new pipeline in the direction of the Balkan countries.
"so, the supply of gas would be (from Slovakia - ed.) via Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania further South, to Greece and Turkey that would be connected to this new pipeline gas from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and, potentially, from Iran, and LNG (liquefied natural gas), which would go through Turkey and Greece from the USA ", - said the head of the Ministry of economy of the Slovak Republic.
