The delegation of the Ministry of defense of Russia from 12 to 16 November will participate in activities related to the Day of remembrance and sorrow in Germany. The delegation is headed by the head of Department of the Ministry of defence on perpetuating of memory of victims at protection of Fatherland Vladimir Popov, said today correspondents Deputy defense Minister army General Dmitry Bulgakov.
"This event is organized and conducted by the people's Union of Germany on care of military cemeteries for many years on a system basis and is a key element of military memorial cooperation of Russia and Germany, He said.- This event is a Prime example of historic reconciliation of the Nations 2 of our States. We note the significant contribution to this work by Russian and German veterans, youth and other public and state organizations ".
Deputy head of the Ministry of defense said that during his stay in Germany Vladimir Popov will visit a number of military graves, which will assess the safety and resettlement of Soviet and Russian military memorials and military cemeteries. He will also review carried out in Germany by working to preserve the memory of the Nazi crimes and their victims, including the fallen on the battlefield, prisoners of war, concentration camp prisoners and forced laborers. In addition, the Russian Delegation will visit the German archive service (Deutsche Dienstelle) and will lay wreaths on Soviet war memorials in Tiergarten, Pankove, Treptower Park, and burial sites in Lilienthal-stra?e.
According to Bulgakov, during the commemorative events in Berlin will also host the meeting of the commissioners of public authorities, war veterans and the public from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Germany.
