In the suburban town of long island found the bodies of 4 teenagers - including the skeletal remains of two dead missing many months ago.
Police in Suffolk have not announced any arrests regarding mysterious murders that take place in the town. Police Commissioner Timothy Sini said Monday that there is a suspicion "of involvement in gangs" in all four deaths, but he declined to go into details.
15-year-old Bottom, Mikens, 16-year-old Kyle Cuevas, 19-year-old Oscar Acosta, a 15-year-old Miguel Garcia-Moran attended the same school in Brentwood, which is about 45 miles East of new York. According to police, Mickens and Cuevas were beaten to death. Acosta and Garcia-Moran also became victims of attacks.
The first sign of the tragedy came when a passerby found the body of Mikens street Brentwood on 13 September, on the eve of his 16th birthday. The next day, the body of 16-year-old Cuevas, who was the best friend of Mickens, was discovered in the yard of a neighboring house after those two went out at night for a walk. Nine days later, Acosta and Garcia-Moran was found in an industrial and wooded area of Brentwood. Garcia-Moran went missing in February. Acosta disappeared in may, police said. Stepfather Garcia-Moran said that his son was missing when he went to meet with friends in high school in Brentwood. The teenager's father said he was afraid that the boy might have been affiliated with a gang.
The police Commissioner said that the authorities are working to solve crimes and ensure the safety of residents in several ways, including an increased police presence with the use of specially trained officers to deal with gangs.
