Serena Williams said that she was sick and tired to play in the Grand Slam tournaments due to injury. 22-time Grand slam champion struggled with a shoulder injury and knee over the last year.
"I'm tired of playing tournaments, unhealthy and taking a loss that I would never take," Williams said to CNN on the opening of the new tennis Academy. "I definitely want to make sure I'm healthy and play at least 80% healthy so I can play at a higher level."
Williams managed to win only one title compared to the other seasons, but Serena refused to acknowledge that the reason her injuries. French coach Patrick Mouratoglou said: ""We have to be honest - it was a bad season for her". She played only eight tournaments, and it's not so much for Serena. It's a bad year, there are many explanations, but we have to learn and be better next year, and that's certainly the goal. This does not satisfy at all."
Williams was more open when asked about her clothing line that is popular in new York at fashion Week. She presented a collection of Signature last week, and stated that business commitments have little effect on her tennis.
"It's easy for me because when I'm on the court I'm really focused," she added. "I play every day so I have a lot of time just to get through the little things. I have a wonderful team that I work with and they really do a lot of work."
