On this day, exactly 8 years ago, when the world watched the opening of the Beijing Olympics, Saakashvili was at one time the President of Georgia, said that the military operation in South Ossetia will not. And the same evening at struck Tskhinvali, the Georgian "Grad". The first impact was on the order of the Russian peacekeeping forces. Multiple rocket launchers were beaten at the barracks where the soldiers slept, 37 peacekeepers were killed. What is left of the barracks, now a memorial. Remember those terrible days in the main square of Tskhinval gathered hundreds of citizens. There is not one family untouched by the events of August 2008. Women and children hiding in the basement, and the men stood up to defend the homeland. The battle went all over the city. The local militia managed to knock out a few tanks drove into town.
