Rescuers search for 2-year-old boy who dragged the alligator. The incident occurred near Orlando, authorities said. The incident occurred while the family relaxed on a sandy region near the Seven Seas lagoon.
The child was playing in the water along the edge of the lake when he was attacked by an alligator, said Orange County Sheriff Jerry Deming. After the Gator grabbed the child, the father jumped into the water and tried to pull the head of her son back from his mouth, but failed to do so, said Deming.
"Based on my 35 years of experience in law enforcement, I can say that we never saw. We're not leaving until we get the baby," said the Sheriff.
Deming said there is no record of such incidents in this particular area.
The family of four - parents and two children - is on vacation from Nebraska, said Deming. They arrived on Sunday. "Everyone here at the Walt Disney Resort is devastated by this tragedy", stated to journalists the press-Secretary of Disney. Deming says no reports of alligator coming in to the region recently.
Authorities are looking for the child for approximately four hours and don't plan to stop until he is found. CNN employees were noticed at least 10 ambulances, the beach was cordoned off.
