In new York the man beat the rapist to death with a tire iron. Mamadou Diallo was charged with manslaughter.

Diallo told police that he received a phone call on Monday evening from his wife, she told him that the man who broke into their apartment in the Bronx trying to rape her. Diallo told investigators that his wife heard a knock at the door. When she opened the door, a man rushed in and began tearing away her clothes, trying to rape her.

Cousin came to her aid and tried to help repel the attack, said a source in law enforcement bodies. The wife managed to free himself and used a cell phone to call my husband.

Mamadou Diallo came home, took the Elevator to the 6th floor and found 43-year-old rapist in the hallway. According to the investigation Diallo attacked the man and severely beat him. The police were unable to interview the abuser, as he died from his injuries.

The victim's husband also suffered minor injuries but was soon released from the hospital. The rapist was well known to the police. He has 19 arrests for robbery, assault and arson, said a source in law enforcement bodies.

Son Diallo, Abdul, told WCBS that would have done the same thing his father did, if he was in the same situation. "I think any husband would have done the same thing," said Abdul Diallo. "You see, your wife is being attacked and sexually harassed, you are going to hit you in the face. You're not just going to sit there and let the man go. So I don't think he's wrong."
