Actor, producer, screenwriter and costume designer Xavier Dolan is a man of many talents. But his great directing skills made him one of the most interesting in the industry.
In 2014 his film "Mommy" was nominated for a Golden palm in Cannes and was awarded the jury prize of the festival. And just last year, his video for the singer Adele "Hello" became a phenomenon of pop culture.
Now 27-year-old Director working on his new project, "the Death and life of John F. Donovan" in Montreal, Canada. Premiere of his new movie in English has a stellar cast, which includes Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon and Tandy Newton, and star of "Game of thrones" kit Harington, who will play a major role.
"I always wanted to tell this story about intolerance and about how Hollywood casts different people," says French-canadian Director. In this case, his youth and diverse experience are of particular benefit. "This is the work of someone who's definitely from my generation, my age. It's interesting," said Harrington about Dalane.
Dolan agrees that, as an actor, plays a big role in how he approaches his craft. But he is not satisfied, work alone, and says that it ultimately depends on the contribution of other people, they must help him to Express himself.
"You surround yourself with people who have a very refined sensitivity and to understand you and whose ideas you adopt," he says. "Film making is a collective art involving many artists and technicians, this is something you run alone, but creating together."
