The singer-and-actress reaches the landmark age in July, and although many people dread it she says it can?t come soon enough. Jessica has been widely criticised for her fluctuating weight in recent years, but now feels totally confident with herself. She has spent a lot of time getting to know what she likes and dislikes, and says that is the key to accepting herself.
"I`m very excited to turn 30, and I just feel like I`m now the most comfortable I`ve ever been in my body. I`m a woman, and I have curves and I celebrate it, and I`m definitely confident," she told Popeater.com. "But you can only hear people talk so much c**p about you for so long to where it`s just to the point of like, you can`t say anything else. It`s not hurting my feelings anymore. You`re not getting to me. You`re just trying to make money!"
Jessica added she doesn`t feel there is more pressure on her to look good than on other people. She knows women of all ages worry about their appearance, and wishes it wasn?t the case.
She has advised young girls who are fretting about their looks to start a journal, explaining writing down your feelings can sometimes help you understand what is really important.
"I think it`s very important for a girl to really understand herself - whether that`s journaling, or writing or whatever you can do to really do your own personal homework - just know who are you are, and know what is special about you, and even embracing your flaws," she explained. "Just knowing that there is always gonna be pressure, [whether] you`re the biggest star in the world or if you`re just at high school walking down the halls. Everybody feels pressure to be beautiful, and I think that the only way to be beautiful is to own it for yourself. That`s the only way to feel beautiful."
