At the weekend, Lavrov visited Saudi Arabia
Friday and Saturday the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov visited Saudi Arabia. It was not a private visit, our Minister performed a working visit to this country. This important trip was fruitful, as in addition, Lavrov held a meeting with king Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud, our foreign Minister met with Adel al-Jubeir - the head of the diplomatic corps in Saudi Arabia.

Sergei Lavrov with an ulterior motive arrived to the Kingdom - the fact that within a month the first ever visit by a head of state, king Salman bin Abdul-Aziz al Saud in Russia. For this reason, the main goal of the talks of the Ministers was to prepare the ground for non-stop movement of Russian-Saudi relations in the direction of expansion. The Ministers agreed that many of interest to both parties politics, parties will provide a candid and honest comprehensive discussion .

Sergei Lavrov and Adel al-Jubeir outlined the points of contact and points of growth, which are located in almost all spheres of life, from trade and economy, science and culture.

Concerning regional conflicts, both Ministers confirmed that their countries had steadily advocated a peaceful settlement to any crisis of contradictions.
