The 25-year-old singer has topped Maxim magazine`s annual Hot 100 list, narrowly beating Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl Brooklyn Decker and Avatar star Zoe Saldana, who came second and third. The magazine`s Editor-in-Chief Joe Levy says Katy is a deserving winner because she is "supernova hot".
"She is a triple - no, quadruple - kind of hot," Levy told UsMagazine.com. "It`s that feeling you get when you suddenly realise that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to the best looking and a pretty good skateboarder, too. All of sudden, your crush goes supernova, and this is Katy`s supernova moment."
Levy said Brooklyn came in second because she is so sexy that even women can`t help but stare at her. He praised the blonde beauty`s amazing body, stunning face and winning personality.
"This fiery Victoria`s Secret model makes even our female staff stop and stare," he said.
Zoe won third place, followed by Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and Megan Fox, who was number 2 last year.
Pop star Rihanna, George Clooney`s Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, US model and presenter Olivia Munn, reality star Kim Kardashian and Victoria?s Secret model Marisa Miller rounded out the top 10.
Kim, who was in 53rd place last year, was thrilled with her meteoric rise, posting on her Twitter account: "Maxim Magazine just released their Hot 100 for 2010 and I?m number 9!! Last year I was number 53!!!! Wow. This is such an honor! (sic)."
Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel, Angelina Jolie, Selita Ebanks and Chelsea Handler also appeared in the top 100.
