The 42-year-old singer - who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 - admits taking to the stage for the first time after being given the all-clear was a physical and emotional challenge.
She explained: "There was the physical side of knowing your body`s been through a lot and dealing with those changes, but it was a real emotional challenge too.
"Performing again was what I had really longed for but I could definitely sense people were watching thinking, `Is she OK? Is she going to make it?`
"I just had to dig my heels in, I`ve got a damn strong constitution. I`m like a little terrier, I will do it."
The `All the Lovers` hitmaker also admitted that, despite getting older, she hasn`t curbed her partying and often draws attention to herself with her drunken antics.
She added: "I am always the one dancing on the table. I love having that first pink champagne and forgetting about the day, but before I know it.
"I`m getting merrier and merrier and dancing on any structure in sight and that`s when I have to call it a night."
