Officials of more than 20 towns from different parts of world gathered in London to discuss climate changes and methods of struggle with them.
Berlin invests in sun batteries, Mexico buys new taxis and Toronto uses lake water to cool buildings - all these methods are on the agenda of forum named Worldwide town leader?s summit on climate changes and even leaders of Peking, Deli, San-Paolo, Stockholm, Kingston and others take part in this meeting. There will be a discussion of a question how to adjust to changing climate. On the threshold of London forum British organization Climate Group published its report. Document contains 15 town investigations which evidence about certain success in reduction of harmful atmospheric ejection. Among other examples: Berlin where 75% of new buildings have sun batteries; Mexico government plans to exchange 80 thousand taxis on cars with reduced exhaust level by 2006; Chicago encourages gardening on roofs and let additional cooling of buildings; Copenhagen with one third of population riding bicycle on work.
