The 85-year-old monarch and her 90-year-old husband the Duke of Edinburgh are to undertake a gruelling 10-day tour later this month, with official engagements scheduled each day, sparking speculation it will be their final trip there as the queen is expected to cut back on long-haul trips after her Diamond Jubilee next year.
However, a royal spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "It is a well-paced programme but the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are doing something substantial every day of the programme.
"They are very much looking forward to the visit but we wouldn`t speculate at all on whether this will be Her Majesty`s last tour of Australia."
The couple will fly to Canberra on October 19, where they will be based for a week and make a day trip to Brisbane on October 24.
They will also visit Queensland to meet with people affected by the floods in January, and then will fly to Melbourne on October 26 and from there will visit Perth and join UK Prime Minister David Cameron at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
The queen made her first official trip to Australia in 1954 - where she was the first reigning monarch to visit - and her most recent was in 2006, when she opened the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
