The supermodel loves making her own preserves and intends to create some special chutneys to give away as gifts to her close pals during this year`s festive season.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Some of Kate`s pals are really into cheese so she has told them to expect a surprise this Christmas.
"She loves cooking and experimenting with different flavours."
This is not the first time Kate has put produce from her home in the Cotswolds, England, to good use, as she has also made fresh soaps with ingredients sourced from her garden.
A friend explained: "Kate has gone soap mad. She`s been trying to master the art after one of friends sent her a batch of home-made bars, which she loved.
"She`s adamant all the ingredients should be fresh and natural. She`s sent quite a few to her girlfriends to try out. Depending on the feedback, she`s thinking of releasing a range."
Kate and her rocker husband Jamie Hince, who she married in July, are also set to head into the wine business, after she bought him a £130,000 vineyard in France so he can start pressing his own grapes.
Of their plans, a source said: "Jamie really appreciates a good drop and is quite knowledgeable about vintages and grapes, and Kate even picked up a couple of handy tips.
"Kate is planning on naming the wine after herself and has even suggesting using a Merlot grape to produce the inaugural Vin de Mossot."
