The wrestling legend launched lawsuits against his former friend DJ Bubba the Love Sponge, and his ex-wife Heather Clem - who stars with him in the tape - as well as website Gawker, where a 90 second clip taken from the tape was first published. The lawsuit seeks $100 million in damages from Gawker for the footage, as well as unspecified damages from Bubba and Heather for recording him without permission.
Hulk`s lawyer said the actions of those involved in leaking the tape were "illegal, outrageous, and exceeded the bounds of human decency."
The lawyers were also calling for any copies of the tape to be handed over to them to be destroyed forever. Gawker has previously said it received the footage on a burned DVD from an anonymous source who wanted no payment.
A lawyer for Bubba said the star was very hurt that the tape had leaked.
Stephen Diaco told the New York Daily News: "Our position, and Terry knows this, is that Bubba is a victim here too.
"I don`t know how you sue a victim. Let`s see how it all plays out. Bubba loves Terry, the best man at his wedding. They`re best friends for a lifetime. Bubba would literally take a bullet for the guy."
It is still unknown how the sex tape leaked, but it has suggested it could have been done by a disgruntled ex-employee of Bubba.
