Anders Fogh Rasmussen at the post leaders of the Alliance have replaced the former Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg. Russia will evaluate the performance of the newest NATO Secretary General on the exact actions, not statements, told the Russian Ambassador to NATO Alexander Grushko.
The Stoltenberg went "difficult heritage", said Russian Ambassador to the Alliance. Namely, in the foreseeable future he will have to deal with the implementation of the decisions of the summit in Wales, to increase military presence and activity on the Eastern flank of the Alliance, in the Baltic and Black seas, to create specialized forces high readiness, to increase military spending to 2 percent of GDP. "In consequence of this we will be judged not by the statements, and accurate business",- said Alexander Grushko on the TV channel "Russia-24".
Note that the new Secretary General of NATO has managed to accuse the Russian Federation in destabilizing the situation in Ukraine. With all this, the main priority block in the coming years will be its strengthening of collective defence. The cease-fire in Ukraine opens the opportunity to resolve the situation, but Russia, says Stoltenberg, as before, can destabilize Ukraine and continues to violate international law. He also said that by the end of this year, the Union will launch 4 trust Fund for assistance to Ukraine.
