Russian will sue Google for surveillance

Resident of Yekaterinburg sues the company and urges ban to read his e-mail. Also, for failure to comply with the privacy it requires to recover from Google 50 thousand rubles.

The American company Google has sued the Manager of the Department of European law Humanities University of Ekaterinburg Anton Burkov. He suggests that Google keeps track of its own users. The Complainant noted that the robot company scans private correspondence exposes the analysis of interests and consumer preferences so that the subsequent form of contextual advertising.

In the Russian Consulate Google recognize the application of this technology, but it is said that user data is protected from unauthorized access by others. As outlined Burkov, in one of the private electronic messages he mentioned the European court of human rights in Strasbourg. Then in the Network appeared advertising travel agents, cheap flights to Strasbourg and lawyers offering their own services.

"I realized that to get information about my interest in Strasbourg Google could only from my own message, from what I've concluded that it reads confidential correspondence. Of course, I understand that Google is a free search resource, however I wasn't asked permission and was not warned that I will read" - quoted by Izvestia Anton Burkov.

The representative of the stronger sex explained that these actions Google does not respect privacy. He asks to recover from the defendant 50 thousand rubles, and yet deny to read confidential messages. Consideration of the claim is scheduled for 16 February 2015. According to him, the purpose of the claim is not in an attempt enrichment, and that it is necessary to create a precedent and defend Russian users from possible violations.
