Georgia gives time Russian peace-makers "to improve"
The parliament of Georgia worked out draft resolution on Russian peace-makers stay expediency in the zones of conflicts on the territory of the country. The document adoption is expected on Tuesday.
The document consists of list of claims to the Russian peace-makers which, in Georgian legislators opinion, refused or were not able to secure peace in Georgian-Abhasian and Georgian-Osetian conflict zones. Particularly terrorism, smuggling, kidnapping assistance and militarization of zones of conflicts are incriminated to the peace-makers.
In the present resolution parliament also defined the period during which Russia should "reconsider the credentials of peace-makers and to find the position in conflicts on the territory of Georgia". If the situation with Georgian-Abhasian and Georgian-Osetian conflict zones did not change for the better delegates will bring up the question about Russian peace-makers withdrawal out from the country.
As speaker of parliament of Georgia Nino Burdjanadze said, "when osetian side broke all agreements lasted since 1992 and which were guaranteed by Russia peace-makers showed their absolute helplessness".
To remind, the particular discontent was raised in Tbilisi by military parade in Tshinvali on the 20th of September in which Russian military machinery took part. The parade was devoted to the 15 years of Southern Osetia independence. "We do not need peace-makers of that kind. If the situation did not change in the immediate future we will bring up the question about their withdrawal indeed", - Burdjanadze said thereupon.
As it was noted in the parliament Georgia is intended to request European council simultaneously the withdrawal of Russian peace-makers and international contingent to substitute them.
