The wife of a former Minister of defense of Greece Akis Tsohatzopoulos carried out escape from a psychiatric clinic. In a medical facility, where Vicki Stamati came after he was flawless in prison suicide attempt, she was under the protection service.

The news of the escape Vicki Stamati the police arrived at about 6 o'clock in the morning. Apparently she left a psychiatric hospital at night. In the morning, as informed by the Greek media, the guards showed the door open to the balcony, and the chamber empty.

When searching inside the hospital did not lead to useful results, informed about the incident by law enforcement agencies. It is currently a fugitive wanted by the police. Lawyers and relatives of Stamati issued a statement, urging her to surrender.

The day before the Tribunal for the 5th time rejected the request of the wife of the former Minister for exemption. Then, according to reliable information in the press, she discussed with a lawyer the court's decision and declared to him that is not going to stay in prison until the end of their own days.

Vicki Stamati in 2013, was sentenced to 12 years in the case of economic offences own spouse. The former Minister of defense of Greece Akis Tsohatzopoulos was sentenced to 20 years behind bars on charges of bribery and money laundering of illegally acquired cash.

In late 2013 the wife of former warlord attempted suicide. According to some, the wife of Tsohatzopoulos long was treated for severe depression with suicidal syndrome.

After this conflict, it was placed on a treatment in a psychiatric hospital. At the hospital, Stamati were under the security service after the transfer from the camera.
