Two children die crossing railway in East Siberia Two children were killed in separate incidents when trying to cross railway tracks in East Siberia, a transport police spokesman said Thursday.

In one incident doctors were unable to save the life of a 14-year-old teenager electrocuted when he grabbed hold of an electric cable receiving 27,000 volts.

The other eight-year-old boy was killed after he got caught between two approaching trains and was sucked under the wheels.

In both cases the children tried to cross the tracks in the wrong place.

The tragedy brings the total number of children killed on the railways in East Siberia this year to five, with four injured, the spokesman said.
