Rada voted for martial law The Verkhovna Rada in the first reading adopted the law "On legal regime of martial law", which was proposed by parliamentarians for consideration by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

To accept it as a basis for future regulations voted by 258 deputies, subject to required minimum number of 226 votes.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko agreed with the proposed in Minsk intention for a peaceful settlement of the incident in the Donbass, which implies the ceasefire and the movement toward a diplomatic resolution to the crisis. This, however, does not prevent him and some other politicians powers, to make a resounding statement relatively to the possible continuation of military actions.

For example, a special popularity among Ukrainian politicians received the consideration of the ability of the imposition of martial law, which, having regard to the opinion of some of them, will unleash Kiev hands in relation to the conduct of hostilities in the Donbass. So, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko offered for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada a bill "On legal regime of martial law".

To take it in the first reading voted 258 deputies at 226 necessary. And yet, parliamentarians refused to vote for the bill in the 2nd reading, reports UNN. Its decision, the MPs explained that the project needs to be completed and compared with other projects, also the existing law.

"This law characterizes the content of the legal regime of martial law, the order of introduction and withdrawal, the legal basis of state authorities, military command, military administrations, local authorities, companies, institutions and organizations in conditions of martial law, guarantees the rights and freedoms of people on this planet and Mr. and of the rights and legitimate interests of legal persons", - is told in the explanatory note to the document. Consequently, the adoption of a law does not mean that the military situation in the country will still be entered.

It should be noted that according to the bill, the President of Ukraine cannot be dismissed in the current period on the ground of the powers of martial law, about which wrote Days.Ru. If the term of office of the head of the country will be completed during the period of martial law, its powers shall be extended until the accession to the presidency, elected after the lifting of martial law.
