Members of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation proposed to ban toy guns in the investigation of criminals. They are of the opinion that children copies of real weapons used by the raiders to threaten the victim.

Member of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation Vladimir Slepak has proposed a ban on toy guns that look like real. In his address to the Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matviyenko he announced concerns that safe toys in the hands of the villains can cause damage to the society.

Children's pistols, taking into account the opinion of the Slepak, may not be realistic replicas of firearms and other weapons, so they had no opportunity to apply the raiders while intimidating his victims. "All kinds of foreign informants give statistics on which up to 10% of all armed robberies criminals do, not using real pistols and revolvers and their toy copies", - quote of the Slepak "Izvestia".

Besides all this, says social activist, children's pistols introduced into the police misunderstanding that can open fire, mistaking toy guns for real. The Slepak emphasizes that in the world of law enforcement practice, there are cases when guards opened fire on teenagers, confusing toy guns in their hands. "With all of this there is no doubt that in the prescribed circumstances, where the police had no real opportunities to find out real or toy weapons is available to young people," says the man.

As a sample he recalls variant, which happened in Los Angeles in early February of this year when the police decided that a 15-year-old student wants to shoot a young woman, although he was only a toy gun. Law enforcement officers shot the boy, but to my utter joy, the wound was not life-threatening.

Explicit prohibitions on the implementation of realistic toy guns already triggered in some States, reminiscent of a member of the Public chamber. So, realistic replicas of weapons are forbidden to sell in the American States of new York and new Jersey. There toy guns must be either bright colours or of transparent plastic. Similar rules operate in the Brazilian state of sö¸o Paulo and Venezuela.

Along with this, the Federal law "On police" allows a law enforcement officer to use a weapon against a man who has a resistance and threatens the subject, similar to firearms.
