Obama: the EU should maintain the punishment against the Russian Federation before the implementation of the " Minsk-2 "
The head of Barack Obama believes that the EU should keep the penalties against Russia before the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.

"My deep conviction that the EU must keep punishment (against Russia) as long as we won't see full implementation of the Minsk agreements," Obama said at a press conference on results of negotiations with the Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi.

According to the President of the United States, at the upcoming EU summit, all participants will send a signal to Russia that the penalties will not be weakened until, until will not be done "key steps" in this direction.

The summit of the heads of the EU countries at the end of March made a political decision to link the effect of economic penalties against Russia's full implementation of the Minsk agreements and clarified, because it is only planned by 31 December 2015. Because of this it may be necessary to extend economic sanctions, expiring at the end of July this year. Now the EU must enact legislation enshrining the political decision of the summit. On the proposal to extend economic sanctions against Russia from the head of EU diplomacy has not been received.

Moscow has stated many times that is not a party to domestic conflict and is interested in its early peaceful settlement. Imposed by the West punishments of the Russian Federation considers illegal and unjustified.
