Over 120 kids diagnosed with stomach bug at Russian summer camp Over 120 children have been diagnosed with food poisoning at a summer camp in the Novgorod Region in northwestern Russia, a local police spokesman said Wednesday.

The source said 124 children aged 7-14 were taken to a local clinic, and six of them were hospitalized.

The cause of the food poisoning is being established.

This latest outbreak follows a series of similar incidents at summer camps in recent months. About 40 people, including 33 children were hospitalized with an acute intestinal infection in the Sverdlovsk Region in the Urals June 28.

And dysentery was the cause of 93 children and 2 adults being hospitalized at two summer camps in the Moscow Region in June. Violations in food handling and sanitary procedures were cited as a possible cause for the outbreak and a criminal case was opened.
