Russian state aircraft maker to collaborate with Boeing and Airbus Russia`s United Aircraft Building Corporation (UABC), formed last year from leading domestic plane producers, will expand its partnership with the world`s two largest aircraft makers, Boeing and Airbus, UABC`s president said Wednesday.

"We will expand our cooperation with each of the world`s leading aircraft builders. We are working with the Europeans on expanding deliveries of components from Russia for their airplanes. The first deliveries from Irkutsk and Voronezh have shown the high quality of Russian-made components, and they are already being installed on Airbus aircraft," Alexei Fyodorov said.

He said UABC would be actively involved in building the European A-350 long-haul airplane.

"We will decide on the extent of our participation in the project before the end of the year," he said, adding that negotiations are underway with Airbus on the joint design and production of a new type of aircraft.

Fyodorov said Boeing and UABC are working closely together to promote the SuperJet-100 project, a family of medium-range passenger aircraft developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau in cooperation with major American and European aviation corporations, including Boeing, Snecma, Thales, Messier Dowty, Liebherr Aerospace, and Honeywell.

He said UABC and Boeing would also cooperate in developing new technologies and composite materials in the interest of both the U.S. corporation and Russian enterprises.
