European Union conference on the EU-Ukraine in Kiev gave an assessment of Ukraine's progress towards visa-free regime, said the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

The Ukrainian government had hoped that the conclusion of a visa-free regime has the opportunity to be adopted at the conference "Eastern partnership" in Riga, however, the Head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski have said before, because it's unlikely, but it all depends on the evaluation of the fulfillment of the conditions of Kiev.

The head the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin now says that during the summit has to be made " a fundamental conclusion about the progress towards a visa-free regime for Ukraine ", and looks forward to its introduction in 2016.

"on visa-free regime was evaluated progress, and on may 12 we await the result of the assessment mission. Between 12 may and the Riga summit, we agreed to convene a high level, which will develop appropriate preparatory documents for the Riga summit, " said Poroshenko on Thursday.

He said that he had asked European leaders to tell the exact date of the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine.
