Stephen Cohen: Ukraine is the epicenter of geopolitical transformations
Ukraine is in the midst of global political transformations taking place on the continent, American historian and Princeton University Professor Stephen Cohen.

today, the participation of Russia in the Ukrainian conflict is considered a number of politicians as a violation of the international order established after the destruction of the Soviet Union.

to counter such accusations Cohen argues that post-Soviet order has been violated long before that - when the United States carried out air strikes on the territory of Serbia.

"The claim that Putin is destroying established in the European Union post-Soviet order, ignores the fact that the Russian Federation was deliberately excluded from it," said Cohen, adding that the Russian Federation was never invited to become part of the European order. Instead of the Alliance systematically its presence to the Russian borders.

"We are experiencing a geopolitical restructuring, and the world will never be the way it was 5-6 years ago, at least in the EU. It in truth historic times, " said the Professor.

in his vision, the epicenter of this transformation is Ukraine, and the key confrontation between the United States and Russia.

Parallel to this, Europe is divided under the action of transient reorientation of China. It shall not be a global effect, but, the analyst believes, without doubt, affects half of the world.
