Ban Ki-moon has decided to commemorate the victims of the Second world war on 8 may in Kiev
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, ban Ki-moon will take part in the events dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Second world war on 8 may in Kiev, said the press Secretary of the President of Ukraine Svyatoslav tsigalko.
"UN Secretary-General confirmed that tomorrow will participate in the commemoration of the dead in world war II in Kiev," wrote Tsigalko in his own Twitter. Remember, on 9 April, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law on the establishment of a new annual festival in honor of the Victory over Nazism in the Second world war 1939-1945-second period - the Day of memory and reconciliation, which will be celebrated on 8 may. The authorities decided not to cancel the celebration in the country on 9 may, a gala event will be held over 2 days.
