Ukraine can count on the support of NATO, said on Wednesday the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Jens Stoltenberg.

"Ukraine can count on the continuing support of NATO countries," - said Stoltenberg. He drew attention that "successful reforms" will be decisive for the stability of progress in Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 23 last year made changes to 2 of the law of the country, renouncing non-aligned status of the country. The program of Ukraine's cooperation with NATO involves several points: modernization of communication systems, bringing Ukrainian military power in congruence with the standards of the countries-members of NATO, retraining and social adaptation of Ukrainian soldiers, physical rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian military, logistics, and standards of military power, cyber defence.

Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen have said before, that the entry of Ukraine into the Alliance, it will need to achieve a number of features, implementation of which will leave a large number of time. While NATO does not accept countries that have territorial discussions, and Ukraine claims to the Crimea, which became part of Russia following a referendum in March.
