OSCE: the Law of decommunization in Ukraine threatens freedom of speech
Adopted in Ukraine, the law On decommunization threatens freedom of expression in the country, said the Commissioner of the OSCE on freedom of the media Dunja Mijatovic.




"Defenders of freedom of expression and the media has discouraged the entry of this law into force, despite repeated calls to protect these basic rights," said Mijatovic, RIA " Novosti ". As stated in the letter, Mijatovic fifteen April wrote a letter to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with a request to examine the law before you take it. Fifteen may, Poroshenko signed a law On decommunization which ban Soviet symbols, recognise the illegal Communist regime, recognize UPA* fighters for independence of the country, and the Great Patriotic war, the date the order only be called the Second world. In April, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the law On the recognition of OUN-UPA fighters for independence of Ukraine and provided the right of its present social guarantees. At the same time, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted for the adoption of the act on condemnation of the Communist regime in Ukraine. April 30 elected officials have sent a draft law to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
