Minister of Latvia: a moratorium of payments does not help the Ukrainian government The decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the moratorium on the payments of debts not developing relations between Kiev and Brussels, said Fins news the Latvian economy Minister Dana Reizniece Ozola on Thursday.

Ukraine's Parliament on Tuesday passed a Law that allows you to suspend payments on restructured their external debt obligations. The document also provides that in the case of the introduction of the Cabinet of Ministers of the moratorium creditors will not be able to pay the judicial recovery of state property. The law still has to sign the head. Before experts have called this law the "ultimatum creditors" and " the last step before default." Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk tried to convince private creditors to meet Kiev and restructure debt on the government's proposed conditions of Ukraine.

"This by itself does not encourage the cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine, because we also hope the results of homework (on the implementation of the Treaty on the Union with the EU), Ukraine with own side was doing," she said on the sidelines of a business forum before the summit of "Eastern partnership" in Riga.

Latvia is currently presiding the EU. In Riga on may 21-22 passes the summit of " Eastern partnership ".

The program "Eastern partnership" includes political Association and economic integration of the EU with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The last 3 countries last year signed the Association agreement with the EU partnership.
